Shinsegae Centum City is the world's largest department store, surpassing Macy's in New York City. It was built on the former lands of Suyeong Airport, which was previously the main airport for Busan, and also contains an ice skating rink. It also serves as the flagship store of the Shinsegae department store chain.

Canal City is one of the largest shopping complexes in southern Japan and is notable for its architecture; it is an outdoor mall with a canal running through it. It is the largest private development project in Japan's history, costing about US $1.4 billion for 234,460 square meters (2.5 million square feet).

Formerly known as Victoria Eaton Centre, The Bay Centre opened in 1990 and was the first major shopping mall in downtown Victoria. It was built on two city blocks in Victoria's historic square, and remains one of the largest shopping malls in Greater Victoria.

Aberdeen Centre is the largest Asian-themed shopping center in Western Canada located in the Golden Village. Its original incarnation in 1989 was one of the first of many Asian-themed shopping centers in Richmond before outgrowing it, resulting in the mall being rebuilt and expanded in 2003. It is the headquarters of the Fairchild Group, the largest Chinese language media company in Canada.

Park Royal Shopping Centre is the first covered shopping mall in Canada; it was originally an open air mall but was covered afterward. It consists of two halves divided by Marine Drive, the main thoroughfare in West Vancouver.

The COEX Mall shares a building with Seoul's World Trade Center complex, the Kimchi Field Museum and a large aquarium. It is the largest underground shopping mall in Asia and was the largest shopping mall in South Korea until Times Square opened in late 2009.

Times Square is the largest shopping mall in South Korea. Its movie theater on the top level is said to have the world's largest screen.

Metropolis at Metrotown is the largest shopping mall in Western Canada, and second largest in Canada (behind only the infamous West Edmonton Mall). Its name comes from its predecessors, Eaton Centre Metropolis and Metrotown Centre, which merged to form a single mega-mall in 2005.
